Between October 15 and 19, 2003, Centre for
Scientific Tourism in Slovakia had the pleasure to organize both scientific and
accompanying persons programme for Prof. Dr. Edward Farrell, head of the
Environmental Resources Management Department, University College Dublin,
Ireland. Prof. Farrell took part in the scientific conference organised on the
occasion of the 20th anniversary of the foundation of the Institute
of Forest Ecology, Slovak Academy of Sciences. 
Before
and after the conference however they visited Vtacnik Primeval Forest and
Badinsky Primeval Forest in the Central Slovakia. In the follow-up discussions
with his Slovak partners and friends, incl. Prof. Bublinec, Dr. Zach and Prof.
Pichler, Professor Farrell expressed his support for the Centre for the Natural
Forest Research to be established before long in Zvolen, Slovakia. He then spent
a day off in the Rajecke Teplice Spa along with his wife Noreen.
