Latest scientific excursion (September 2002)
CSTS's most recent scientific excursion in August 2002 included new localities, such as the beautiful Tlsta Nature Preserve. Mr. Reuland who is in charge of a forestry district in Luxembourg, studied for instance the differences between the structure and texture in primary and commercial forests. This will help him to apply appropriate management methods for the new strict forests preserves to be sorted out in Luxembourg forests.

Mr. Reuland also wrote: "I took home with me memories of a country rich in outstanding landscapes and natural treasures and of its helpful, friendly and "mushroom-adoring" people. The excursions through various forest associations and vegetation stages also showed me new aspects on forest preservation and management and I'm quite sure that sooner or later they will be useful to me in fulfilling my professional task."
