CSTS SCIENTIFIC EXCURSION PARTICIPANTS SAY: WE'LL BE BACK!

Scientific excursion devoted to natural and semi-natural forests of Slovakia has crowned 2001 excursions season.

Between October 21 and 28, a group of 12 British foresters and environmentalists, incl. Mr. Peter Quelch and Mr. Patrick Green of Forestry Commission's National Office in Edinburgh took part in a scientific excursion devoted to the Slovakia's natural and semi-natural forests. The excursion was led by Dr. Pichler and Dr. Sorokova from the Centre for Scientific Tourism in Slovakia who at the same time provided excursion participants with comments on local soils and the ecology of native forest ecosystems. Prof. Vass and Prof. Tuzinsky, CSTS associate experts, gave explanations on geology and silviculture respectivelly.

In the standard process of follow-up evaluation, the excursion participants kindly provided organisers with their constructive and generally very positive feedback thus contributing to the overall quality of the next excursions.
