CSTS hosted Mr. Mactavish...
(CST Slovakia - News)

CSTS hosted Mr. Graeme Mactavish and party

Hrončekovský grúň

At the end of June 2001, CSTS hosted visitors from the UK interested in sustainable forestry methods. Our most distinguished guests and field guides exchanged views on issues such as the role and possible extraction of dead wood in or from forests, wildlife management, impact of ecotourism on the natural environment etc. They also discussed best practices for avoiding erosion in frequented tourism areas. It was mentioned that CSTS currently released its first report on the potential threats posed to natural environment by poorly managed tourism or misunderstood "eco"tourism. CSTS has welcomed the opportunity to discuss options for trail retrofitting in areas endangered by erosion, as well as advice based on experience from the Lake District.
