Poľana Biosphere Reserve is "In"

A group of Slovak persons from the Ipel Union and more than 10 United Kingdom foresters and nature managers, funded by a programme (EU) called '21st Century Foresters' visited Poľana Biosphere Reserve on September 20, 2000. Accompanied by CSTS experts (Prof. Vass - geology, Prof. Saniga - silviculture, Dr. Pichler - soils), they visited both several cultural sites of a great value (frescoes inside the church of Zolná), but also the Poľana Biosphere Reserve.

All participants highlighted the fact that Slovakia can provide "an almost mind blowing in terms of its impact upon foreign visitors", as pointed out by Mr. Roger Stott, President of the Yorkshire Dales Millenium Trust. "Slovakia is a jewel in the crown and in terms of scenery, value for money, food, beautiful architecture etc., it is truly a great place to visit."
